This year, Sci-Tech is proud to announce the first-ever Film-A-Thon hosted by David and Saryn (Lead instructors of the Digital Film Production Workshop)! This is a month-long film project that will allow Sci-Tech campers and kids of camp age to come up with a concept, make a film, and then showcase it, just like at camp!
Here’s how it will work: On January 16, the Film-A-Thon submissions will open and will stay open until February 15. From there, David and Saryn will review the films and get them ready for a fun and Sci-Techtastic premiere live on February 21 on Twitch, where we will showcase the films as well as award prizes to those who excel in different categories.

NUMBERS: WHY THEY COUNT
About this year's theme:
The theme: Numbers: Why They Count is a play on the connection between both the numbers we use in our everyday lives as well as the fourth book of the Torah, which is also called Numbers. To help you convey this theme in your film, you're welcome to use one or both of the interpretations as a way to represent Numbers, but there will be a prize awarded to who has the best use of theme, so keep that in mind.

All entrants to the Sci-Tech Filmathon must abide by the following rules and regulations or otherwise risk disqualification of their film submission
- No use of drugs or alcohol
- No gore or violence
- Limited frank talk of death
- No swear words
- Open to current and former campers (and kids) who have attended up to 11th grade are allowed to enter
- No staff members of URJ 6 Points Sci-Tech Academy are allowed to enter, including Machon
- If multiple campers are making a movie together, their film will count as 1 submission
- Campers cannot submit more than one film
- Only 1 award will be awarded per group
- Agree by submitting your video, that it is okay to be posted and shared on the Sci-Tech vimeo, blog post

- Best Use of Sci-Tech Values
- Best Sound Design
- Best Editing
Winners will receive:
- Digital Award Certificate (All Awards)
- Sci-Tech Blog Post and Social Media Post made (All Awards)
- Movie will be screened at a meal during Summer 2026 (Best use of Theme)
All entrants will have their movies showcased on the Sci-Tech Vimeo account after the Film-A-Thon!

Who Can Submit to the Film-A-Thon?
The Sci-Tech Film-A-Thon is open to all former and current Sci-Tech Campers and kids who have not yet graduated from the 10th grade (i.e., Rising 11th graders and below).
How Can I Submit to the Film-A-Thon?
Submissions are now open! You can submit your Film-A-Thon movie here! When you submit, you will be prompted to include some information about your movie that will help the judges when making their awards decision!
Where Can I Watch the Film-A-Thon?
