VALUES & MISSION

Our Philosophy

A summer camp of the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ), our community focuses on the whole child, fostering personal advancement and resilience while creating an aspirational arc of growth and possibilities. At 6 Points Sci-Tech & Arts Academy, the program staff, campers, and site collaborate to create a holistic, meaningful experience for children in a living laboratory for exploring, creating and performing. We use Arts, Science and Technology programs, along with traditional summer camp activities, as vehicles to provide both formal and informal Jewish education to accomplish our mission.

Our Values

With Judaism’s wisdom and wonder as a foundation for innovation, expression and resilience, we are creative artists who:

Curiosity, סַקרָנוּת (Sakranut)

Embrace the Jewish tradition of continuous learning and discovery.

Creativity, יְצִירָה (Yetzirah)

Immerse ourselves in creation in diverse ways, recognizing and cultivating our unique gifts to continually contribute to the design of a world still in formation.

Collaboration, שִׁלּוּב (Shiluv)

Work together with others. We seek and value their contributions, while also offering our own insights and perspectives.

Perseverance, נֶצַח (Netzach)

Display courage and resolve, drawing on strength of character to journey beyond our comfort zones.

Respect, כָּבוֹד (Kavod)

Our ethical approach to work and relationships, characterized by respect and fairness, fosters personal character and cultivates a sacred and caring community.

Pride, גַּאֲוָה, (Ga’avah)

Pride is our spirit during a performance in front of the camera or on the stage; pride is our joy when we apply the finishing brush strokes or finally succeed with our Rube Goldberg machine after 100+ tries.
